ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE
Mechilia Eng, Executive Director
Mechilia began working at BGCMC in 2005 as Unit Director at the Cambridge Club and became the Executive Director in 2007. She served as the pivotal point in the organization's turn-around through her management of all aspects of the organization. Prior to BGCMC, Mechilia taught and has five years experience in the for-profit world specializing in sales, marketing and management. She earned a B.A. in Child Development with a certification in Education from Colby Sawyer College and holds a Nonprofit Management and Leadership certificate from Boston University.
 
 
Dana Benjamin, Director of Operations & Program Development
Dana Benjamin has been working in youth development for 9 years and serving in a leadership capacity at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Middlesex County (BGCMC) for two. She started her career as a fitness coach at a weight loss camp, creating outcome driven programming for youth aged 8-24. After graduating from Boston University’s School of Communications in 2005, Dana joined the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps - spending most of her time in the Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina. She spent the year gaining valuable experience and insight into the importance of non –profit capacity building and infrastructure, community relations, budgeting, planning, organization and teamwork. She joined BGCMC in 2007 as Fitness and Wellness Director for the Medford Clubhouse. Her ability to create award-winning programs, community partnerships, collaborations and garner media placements earned her the administrative role as Program and Operations Manager. In her current role, Dana has supported the expansion of BGCMC through opening a new Clubhouse in Everett MA. She has helped deepen Clubs impact on youth and communities through - increasing program efficacy and delivery, streamlining internal and external communications, improving the quality of program reporting, creating comprehensive training programs, forming sustainable relationships with municipal leaders, government agencies, local businesses and other non profit organizations.
 
 
Sheila Shedd, Finance and Human Resource Manager
Sheila came to BGCMC in 2006 and assisted Mechilia in the organization's turn-around. Before joining the BGCMC team, she worked as an accountant. Sheila is happily married with two kids.
 
 
 
CLUB DIRECTORS


Jennifer Pascual, Healey Club Director
Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Jennifer has found a new home in the great "Bay State.” A graduate of Adelphi University, Jennifer studied Sociology, Anthropology, and Environmental Studies. Her love of people, urban environments, and the great outdoors have culminated into a life of service for today’s urban youth.
 
 
 

Jacquelyn Rudis, Medford Club Director
As a Community Health and Public Policy double concentrator at Brown University, Jacquelyn learned about the importance of communities and how to shape change.  Jacquelyn joins the Boys and Girls Clubs of Middlesex County Family with an esteemed track record of program development, leadership and youth empowerment. She has worked with all ages, most recently managing multiple programs within a YMCA camp including a community service program for tweens and teens in California. Jacquelyn is a quick learner and has been promoted within weeks of being hired at her past two positions. She has been recognized for her ability seek out resources and create meaningful partnerships and relationships to support the future of America's youth. While at an organization called Lead America, Jacquelyn helped craft educational curriculum to prepare students for college and provide an opportunity to explore their future path and discover what inspires them the most.
 

Jessica Jacob, Everett Club Director

Jessica began her work with BGCMC in the fall of 2010 as a Commonwealth Corps member serving at the Everett Clubhouse. She is a graduate of Belhaven University (Jackson, MS) with years of experience in dance education and performing arts administration, including serving as part of a development team for a music and dance academy in Madrid, Spain. Jessica has also worked as a volunteer youth mentor for teenagers for six years, fostering relationships with teens both in her home town of Kansas City, Kansas and throughout her years abroad. Combining her love for non-profit development, arts education, and working with teenagers, she enjoys the variety of opportunities she has as Program Director at the Everett Teen Clubhouse.



Andrew Barrett, Everett Club Director
Andrew Barrett dedicated himself to youth development work with a focus on fitness and wellness for 10 years. Through his leadership positions as coach and Program Leader for the Glastonbury Parks and Recreation Department, he has acquired the skills to mentor and increase self-esteem in youth aged 6-18. His focus on volunteerism in conjunction with his college and professional career speaks to his ability to foster character and citizenship amongst BGCMC members. Andrew has been spent 3 years with the Boys and Girls Club as a Program Specialist at both the Arthur D. Healey School and the Everett Teen Clubhouse. While in Everett, he facilitated a Math Science Technology Initiative program called Quirkles. He was tasked with hiring and training teen Club members to teach science programs to after school children in the community.


Ramelfo (Fito) Frometa, Cambridge Club Director
Fito joined the BGCMC family with more than 9 years experience in youth work, case work, and community organizing. He spent eight years working with teens in Chelsea, MA to create a youth leadership program aimed toward the prevention of drugs, alcohol and tobacco in the community.  He became a well known force within the community and helped create a number of events, programs and partnerships that are still in existence. Most recently, Fito comes to us from the South Boston BGC and is very excited to inspire, support and create opportunities for the Windsor St. Clubhouse in Cambridge.
