Mentors

"Positive mentoring experiences have proven to be an effective tool to help youth overcome the risk factors that can lead to educational failure, dropping out of school, and involvement in delinquent activities."  - Linda Jucovy, The National Mentoring Center

Volunteers are valued members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Middlesex County community. Whether working one-on-one or with larger groups, caring role models can help youth become positive community members and develop meaningful relationships with adults. In order to provide stable relationships for our members, we ask mentors to commit to one hour per week for three months. To read about general volunteer options at the clubs click here.

  • The Mentor: Did you connect with a caring adult when you were young? You can be a positive presence in the lives of Middlesex County kids today. Great Mentors will commit to volunteering regularly at a clubhouse, for at least one hour a week. From tutoring to games, a Mentor is enthusiastic and up for anything. • The Guardian: You'll guard the gates... of the Club, that is! The Boys & Girls Clubs of Middlesex County strive to create a welcoming atmosphere from the moment members step into the clubhouse.  Guardians will put a friendly face on the Club when greeting members and their families.  Experience in reception is especially desired!
  • The Mastermind: Do you consider yourself a pro in your field? Our members want to learn from the best! Masterminds are in great demand at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Middlesex County to teach our members skills such as graphic design, guitar, and basketball.
  • Passionate about something different, or looking for a large-group opportunity?  Learn about other ways to get involved!
