Date SMART
Among teens, dating is a major topic of conversation – how relationships are going, who someone thinks is cute, who is dating whom, which couples have broken up, etc. Despite the importance of dating to young people, they receive relatively little information from adults to help them achieve safe and healthy relationships. Healthy Habits
BGCA’s nationally recognized health and wellness curriculum. Empowering youth to eat right is a generation-changing, life-enhancing program and covers the power of choice, calories, vitamins and minerals, the food pyramid and appropriate portion size. MORE>

Little Girls Club
This club is for our 6 and 7 year old female members. It is a time for them to meet with peers of their own age to play, have fun, and be introduced to a formal program setting. MORE>

Passport to Manhood
Passport to Manhood promotes and teaches responsibility for male Club members ages 11-14. At a critical and transitional time in their adolescence, boys are encouraged to adopt the character virtues that will give them a positive head start in their journey to manhood. MORE>

SMART Kids
A skills-development program for boys and girls ages 6 to 9. The program focuses on self‑awareness, decision making and interpersonal skills, while communicating age‑appropriate information about alcohol and other drugs. MORE>

SMART Girls
BGCMC recognizes that gender specific programs for female members provide an opportunity for growth, self-esteem, empowerment, and socialization that may not be possible in mixed gender based programs. will better equip female members with the tools and support systems needed to aid them through adolescence and important developmental milestones. SMART Girls is a small group program that provides BGCMC’s members with appropriate guidance about how a young woman should present herself. MORE>

USDA sponsored UMass Extension Nutrition Program
All Somerville Club participants will participate in an exciting, enrichment based nutritional education curriculum. Piloted at the Medford and Blessing of the Bay Boathouse locations, this program promises to expand Somerville Youth’s minds and challenge their ideas about healthy eating. MORE>

Youth Opportunities Outdoor Education Program (YOEP)
YOP ensures that young people enjoy meaningful outdoor experiences with adults who know them and their unique needs.Lead by AMC trained BGCMC staff, the program promotes youth's self-esteem, confidence, and environmental awareness through participation in outdoor adventure experiences such as backpacking, hiking, and canoeing. Strong Women Strong Girls
The Healey Clubhouse collaborates with Strong Women, Strong Girls a Boston based non-profit to support healthy lifestyle programming for its 3rd and 4th grade female Members. The program engages 3 Tufts University volunteers to act as mentors and program facilitators. MORE>

MCL
BGCMC facilitates an inter-Clubhouse sports and recreation league between its four Clubhouses called the MCL. Each club competes once every two weeks consisting of home and away games within the season. MORE>
